Hendersonville's return game produced 217 yards and two touchdowns Friday, Sept. 18, as the Commandos routed Hunters Lane 49-20 on the road to open Region 6-5A play.

Quienton Dunn and Jeydan Simmons needed just four returns to outgain the entire Hendersonville offense, which finished with 231 total yards. Dunn broke a 78-yard kickoff return for a score. Simmons added a 71-yard return touchdown, as first reported by Main Street Media's Blaine Kellar.

Quarterback Christopher Jordan completed 4 of 6 passes for 111 yards and three touchdowns. Ayden Meadows hauled in a 50-yard scoring strike. Weston Hall caught a 40-yard touchdown pass. Joshua Hancock added a 3-yard scoring reception.

Jordan also scored on a 3-yard rush, giving him four total touchdowns on the night.

On the ground, eight Commandos recorded at least one carry. Tate Rumney led the way with 38 yards as Hendersonville totaled 120 rushing yards.

Hendersonville jumped out to a 28-0 lead after the first quarter. The Commando Football account on X noted Hunters Lane cut the deficit to 35-6 on a 73-yard touchdown pass with 4:13 left in the second quarter, but the Commandos held a 36-point advantage at halftime.

Hunters Lane, now 0-5 overall and 0-1 in region play, managed two more passing touchdowns in the second half to set the final margin.

The win gives the Commandos a 3-2 overall record and a 1-0 mark in Region 6-5A. It extends their winning streak to two games after a 1-2 start to the season.

Hendersonville hosts Portland in a Region 6-5A matchup in Week 6, according to the Tennessean. A specific date and kickoff time have not been announced. A third straight win would give the Commandos their longest winning streak since 2024.
