Eddie Roberson, a Republican candidate listed for Hendersonville Alderman Ward 6, returned $13,875 to 26 prior donors and spent down most of his campaign account in the third quarter of 2026, according to his campaign finance disclosure filed with the Sumner County Election Commission.

The filing covers July 1 through Sept. 30 and was received by the commission Oct. 5. Roberson entered the quarter with $19,750 on hand, raised $1,300 from four contributors and reported $18,389 in total disbursements. He closed the period with $2,661.

The Hendersonville Standard reported that Roberson, the current Ward 6 alderman who has served eight years on the Hendersonville Board of Mayor and Aldermen, announced Aug. 1 that he would not seek a third term. The Sumner County Election Commission's candidate list for the Nov. 3 election still carries his name alongside two other Ward 6 candidates: Todd Kerr, a Republican, and Rob Reyburn, who has no party affiliation.

Where the money went

The largest share of Roberson's Q3 spending went to the returned contributions, all dated July 31. The filing labels these entries under a "Refund & Contributions" page with a "Refund Amount" column. The $13,875 total matches the gap between itemized expenditures and total disbursements on the report's summary page.

Recipients included David M. Black, a Sumner County commissioner, and Diane Black, both listed at a Gallatin address, who each received $1,900 back. Hendersonville Alderman Karen Dixon received a $200 return.

Roberson also spent $752.66 on political signs from BuildaSign, $77.40 on campaign supplies at Walmart and $500 to Vanessa Silkwood's Ward 4 alderman campaign. He gave $800 to Rob Reyburn's Ward 6 campaign, one of his two opponents in the race.

Who gave in Q3

Only four donors contributed during the quarter, all on Aug. 1. Don Boulds, a Hendersonville small business owner, and a contributor listed on the filing as Paul Heavitt each gave $500. Don Dixon and Paul Corley, both retired Hendersonville residents, each gave $150.

Earlier Q2 filing showed $14,275 raised

Roberson's Q2 filing showed he raised $14,275 from 25 contributors between mid-January and June 30. That period's top donors included David M. Black and Diane Black at $1,900 each, John Evans and Barbara Evans at $1,250 each, and Kenneth Verble, Eddie Phillips and Jamie Houdeshall at $1,000 each. He spent just $732.47 in Q2.

Campaign finance reports for the other two Ward 6 candidates, Kerr and Reyburn, were not available in Sumner County Election Commission records as of Oct. 6.
