Sumner County's ad-hoc committee searching for a new law director will hold its third meeting Thursday, Oct. 22, at 3:30 p.m. in Room 112 of the Sumner County Administration Building, 355 N. Belvedere Drive in Gallatin.

Residents who want to address the committee can sign up on a sheet provided at the meeting before the session begins, according to a public notice posted by the county.

The committee was created after the Sumner County Commission voted 18-4 on Sept. 21 to buy out the contract of law director Sitler, whose term was set to run through Dec. 20, 2026, Main Street Media of Tennessee first reported. The commission also appointed an interim law director at that meeting.

The committee previously met Sept. 28 and Oct. 6, both at 5 p.m. in the same room at the Administration Building, according to county meeting notices. Thursday's session starts earlier, at 3:30 p.m.

No agenda for the Oct. 22 meeting has been published. The county's public notice does not name the committee's members or outline what stage the search has reached.
