Beech fell 7-0 to Kirkwood in Clarksville on Tuesday, Sept. 29, the Lady Buccaneers' second shutout loss by seven or more goals this season.

Lucy Jo Burdine and Molly Jones led the Cobras' offense, combining for four goals. Aubrielle Brooks, Maddie Jones and Bailey Cunningham each added a goal to complete the rout, the Hendersonville Standard reported on X.

The loss drops Beech to 2-8-4 overall and 0-3-1 in AAA District 12, placing the Lady Buccaneers fifth in the district, according to MaxPreps. Head coach K. Passen's squad has allowed 35 goals while scoring 19 through 14 matches.

The Sept. 29 result caps a rough stretch for Beech. The Lady Buccaneers lost 3-0 to Hendersonville in district play on Sept. 22 and managed only a 2-2 draw at Gallatin on Sept. 24 before traveling to Kirkwood. Earlier in the season, Beech absorbed a 9-0 loss to Franklin on Aug. 20. The lone bright spot in recent weeks was a 9-0 win over Lawson on Sept. 17.

Kirkwood, meanwhile, is surging. The Cobras improved to 10-2-1 overall and sit atop AAA District 13 at 3-0. They have won seven straight and outscored opponents 72-10 on the season.

The gap between the two programs showed on the scoreboard. Beech's 19 goals in 14 matches trail Kirkwood's 72 in 13.

Beech returns home Thursday, Oct. 1, to face White House at 6:30 p.m. Both squads enter that match coming off lopsided losses, according to a MaxPreps preview. The Lady Buccaneers' next district match is Tuesday, Oct. 6, against Portland at 7 p.m.
